- How do you like to move?
My favorite way to move is running. I am always looking for my next race!
- What is your favorite snack?
My go to snack lately has been greek yogurt with blueberries and cheerios on top!
- How do you challenge yourself?
I challenge myself by revisiting my goals each month. If I accomplish a goal then I add to it to make it more challenging and keep myself consistent. For the goals I haven't accomplished yet, I set new strategies and try again!
- What do you do for fun?
My favorite activity in the whole world is skiing! Living in Iowa can make skiing a challenge but I take time to visit Colorado at the start of each year to refill my cup. For fun back home, you can find me cooking, shopping, or spending time with my little brother!
- What did you do for fun as a kid?
When I was a kid, I loved to spend summer days outside with friends. I could spend hours jumping on my trampoline! In the winter, I spent most of my days playing club volleyball.
- What is your favorite quote?
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.
When starting a new project, I think it easy for anyone to become overwhelmed. As an Enneagram Type 1, I tend to want to want everything to be perfect which means my to-do lists are extensive! I try my best to remember that as long as I give it all I got then everything will fall into place!
- What animal would you be and why?
Believe it or not, this is the toughest question for me! My practical brain thinks it's crazy to think about being anything but human. After a lot of thought, I have decided on a chimpanzee. I would love to hangout in a tree eating bananas all day, plus chimps are known for being smart!
- What is your role on the KidsFit team and why is it important to you?
As the KidFit Content & Education Coordinator, I am responsible for the health education we put out whether that be in the KidsFit Club newsletter or through one of our School Wellness Club Challenge Toolkits. Additionally, I spend a lot of time talking to teacher, administrators and community partners to help bring KidsFit to kids everywhere!
Health can be hard, even for adults. I believe education is the key to making it easy for everyone. My goal is to educate children early on to help empower them to make the healthy choice later in life. I take my job very seriously but I also think the best way to learn something is by making it fun!
