Baking with Applesauce

Have you ever been craving a sweet treat, but you’re missing butter or oil to make it? Don’t fret! Did you know applesauce can be used to replace liquid fats in almost any baked good? It’s as easy as replacing the melted butter or oil with an equal amount of applesauce.

1 CUP OF OIL = 1 CUP OF APPLESAUCE

These sweet and tangy fruits are known to have health benefits for your whole body, including heart health, providing antioxidants, and protecting against certain diseases. Check out our An Apple a Day blog to Learn more! Cooking with applesauce can also be a great alternative for people with dietary restrictions or food allergies. Applesauce does not contain any animal products, dairy, or gluten!

PRO TIP: Not only does replacing liquid fats with applesauce make for a healthier alternative, it also will keep your baked goods moist and fresh for longer.

There a many different types of applesauce that can be used to do this. KidsFit’s favorite go-to is GoGo SqueeZ! GoGo SqueeZ makes it easy to add to recipes with their on-the-go packaging and makes for virtual no cleanup!
